LetterPerspective
I know you are all watching and talking without cease. But here is
one more perspective on the current war, strange enough that we don't
know the identities of the enemies. At least the Japanese were
courageous enough to write the name of their country on the side of
their planes.
The notion of cells and camps in alien lands plotting our downfall
brings to mind the fact that we have cells and camps in our own land
plotting our downfall. The hatred brewed in skin-head camps and
fundamentalist cells is no more friendly than Osama's imagination.
When we have a moment to breathe, maybe we need to work on the
elimination of hate groups that live in our own nearby places. We need
to find a way to stand up and stand against without taking on all the
language and metaphor and paraphernalia of battle.
The question in the long run is not whom we should hate, but why hate
is the way.
